I've changed which side is the front a couple times, added an apartment above the garage, etc. I haven't placed many windows yet and I still think there's a lot of wasted space but there's quite a bit about it that I like a lot. For instance, the relationship between the kitchen and living room with the 3-sided fireplace between them and the built-in shelves, desks and window seats throughout.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3290150289/" title="HOUSE6 PLAN by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3502/3290150289_8686e3dd57.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE6 PLAN" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3290969842/" title="HOUSE6 ELEV1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3528/3290969842_111e49fb58.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE6 ELEV1" /></a>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00915755349875470667noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310486585585994899.post-52792863324784705622009-02-02T07:05:00.001-06:002009-02-02T07:05:00.292-06:00House #5This is one of the biggest houses I've designed. I went all out with a lot of ideas. There's a separate office for a home based business at the "east" end with it's own entrance, etc. The Master Suite has nearly as much square footage as the entirety of <a href="http://maxwellhomedesign.blogspot.com/2009/01/house-4-retreat.html">House #4</a>. The basement features a den, bar, studio, and a brewing room (brewing beer is another one of my hobbies.) Each section of the house is separated by a thick block wall and the floors vary in height throughout.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229254476/" title="HOUSE5 PLAN1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3385/3229254476_7039598fed.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE5 PLAN1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3228404371/" title="HOUSE5 PLAN2 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3312/3228404371_4f790c50ea.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE5 PLAN2" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229254632/" title="HOUSE5 ELEV1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3449/3229254632_1000652a26.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE5 ELEV1" /></a><br /><br />Copyright 2009 - Amy MaxwellAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00915755349875470667noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310486585585994899.post-17695803424118828862009-01-29T10:20:00.001-06:002009-01-29T10:26:39.301-06:00House #4 - A RetreatThis house was designed as a creative retreat. At only 627 square feet (plus a loft) it is suitable for one or maybe two people. It could also be a beach house or something like that. It's designed to be built into a hill so only the roof is seen from one side. It has no big grand entrance, just a lot of openness and light.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229254240/" title="HOUSE4 PLAN1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3354/3229254240_0a599d3e88.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE4 PLAN1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3228404071/" title="HOUSE4 SECT1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3530/3228404071_b2d4f05603.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE4 SECT1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229254344/" title="HOUSE4 ELEV1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3077/3229254344_aae19b5698.jpg" width="400" height="500" alt="HOUSE4 ELEV1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3228404211/" title="HOUSE4 ELEV2 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3310/3228404211_f6ecce5736.jpg" width="400" height="500" alt="HOUSE4 ELEV2" /></a><br /><br />Copyright 2009 - Amy MaxwellAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00915755349875470667noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310486585585994899.post-7052597805517318532009-01-28T08:40:00.001-06:002009-01-29T10:27:43.060-06:00House #3This is a bigger (for me) house with a full basement designed with lots of space for guests plus a studio (I put this in often since my husband is a music producer.) The basement could even be used as an apartment as there is a small kitchen/wet bar and a separate entrance. Even though this plan has plenty of square footage, I still use all of it to it's full extent including a reading space under the stairs. <br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229254098/" title="HOUSE3 PLAN1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3500/3229254098_960bd41f83.jpg" width="400" height="500" alt="HOUSE3 PLAN1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229254146/" title="HOUSE3 PLAN2 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3432/3229254146_a34cca90c6.jpg" width="400" height="500" alt="HOUSE3 PLAN2" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3228403943/" title="HOUSE3 ELEV1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3362/3228403943_ee9c6268b9.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE3 ELEV1" /></a><br /><br />Copyright 2009 - Amy MaxwellAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00915755349875470667noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310486585585994899.post-7702102262551767552009-01-26T10:19:00.001-06:002009-01-29T10:28:37.782-06:00House #2I designed this house several years ago... at the time I was into the idea of closets with no doors so most of the closets in this house are walk-in with the option of a curtain, but no door. The kitchen is one of my favorite designs, actually inspired by a modern display kitchen I found in a magazine.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3228228309/" title="HOUSE2 PLAN1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3529/3228228309_a2fb113301.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE2 PLAN1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229079092/" title="HOUSE2 PLAN2 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3404/3229079092_e53c40725f.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE2 PLAN2" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229079394/" title="HOUSE2 INTELEV1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3084/3229079394_5c62dddf22.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE2 INTELEV1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3229079208/" title="HOUSE2 ELEV1 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3102/3229079208_0ea6351844.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE2 ELEV1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3228228617/" title="HOUSE2 ELEV2 by amee16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3509/3228228617_f14b8efba1.jpg" width="400" height="320" alt="HOUSE2 ELEV2" /></a><br /><br />Copyright 2009 - Amy MaxwellAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00915755349875470667noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3310486585585994899.post-73712468716648061492009-01-23T11:36:00.004-06:002009-01-29T10:42:31.286-06:00House #1The look of this house was inspired by my trip to Venice in the spring of 2007. I always try to keep the square footage to a minimum as I think most homes are much bigger than they need to be and have a lot of wasted space. Here, I tried to get the most out of every square foot by adding storage where ever possible, keeping the floor plan open, and using the attic as a recreational area.<br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3219926151/" title="HOUSE1 ELEV1 by ameetek16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3303/3219926151_4c7da13be0_m.jpg" width="240" height="180" alt="HOUSE1 ELEV1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3220777094/" title="HOUSE1 PLAN1 by ameetek16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3327/3220777094_4a0c74c98f_m.jpg" width="240" height="192" alt="HOUSE1 PLAN1" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3219926327/" title="HOUSE1 PLAN2 by ameetek16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3513/3219926327_29f0198970_m.jpg" width="240" height="192" alt="HOUSE1 PLAN2" /></a><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/13873174@N08/3220777156/" title="HOUSE1 SECT1 by ameetek16, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3407/3220777156_25eedcc3e5_m.jpg" width="240" height="192" alt="HOUSE1 SECT1" /></a><br /><br />Copyright 2009 - Amy MaxwellAnonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00915755349875470667noreply@blogger.com0
