House #4 - A Retreat

This house was designed as a creative retreat. At only 627 square feet (plus a loft) it is suitable for one or maybe two people. It could also be a beach house or something like that. It's designed to be built into a hill so only the roof is seen from one side. It has no big grand entrance, just a lot of openness and light.

House #3

This is a bigger (for me) house with a full basement designed with lots of space for guests plus a studio (I put this in often since my husband is a music producer.) The basement could even be used as an apartment as there is a small kitchen/wet bar and a separate entrance. Even though this plan has plenty of square footage, I still use all of it to it's full extent including a reading space under the stairs.

House #2

I designed this house several years ago... at the time I was into the idea of closets with no doors so most of the closets in this house are walk-in with the option of a curtain, but no door. The kitchen is one of my favorite designs, actually inspired by a modern display kitchen I found in a magazine.

House #1

The look of this house was inspired by my trip to Venice in the spring of 2007. I always try to keep the square footage to a minimum as I think most homes are much bigger than they need to be and have a lot of wasted space. Here, I tried to get the most out of every square foot by adding storage where ever possible, keeping the floor plan open, and using the attic as a recreational area.
